![]() The game has a blending of Pixel Models and 3D Environments that is unlike anything I have seen out in the Boomer Shooter market right now. It features tons of amazing things not to mention it's a hugely replayable and absolutely tremendously addictive FPS that I couldn't stop playing for the last week or so! First off, Prodeus's graphics are Top Tier. I was hugely impressed by the game's gory violence, weapons, gunplay, level design and music and I'm pleased to say that the full release of Prodeus is an absolute instant classic and a must have for any FPS Fan. (Review Taken from my Steam Page) Prodeus is a game I've been waiting to release for a LONG time after it's initial Early Access Campaign came out in late 2020. Positives: ++Great soundtrack +Great variety of weapons and weapon alts +Loads of well made and interesting levels +Really stylistic art style +Level editor and modding support +6 Negatives: -Enemy variety is good but enemy utility is lacking -Sometimes floor fire made by enemies that hurt you are hard to see because of other ground objects like gore and non-damaging fire -2 9/10 Recommend: Yes, for fans of retro shooters Prodeus is a no brainer. Best of all, modding is seriously prevalent in this game, downloading a map or campaign is easy and you can instantly jump in to a level editor and make your own, which people have used to recreate E1M1 from DOOM and a Christmas campaign. The levels feel intricate and well planned out. ![]() The level design is great, the levels feel significant, the game has hundreds of secret areas you can discover which usually has loot, early access to certain guns or ore (currency) that can be used to buy upgrades and store weapons as well as healing items. The music hits hard and always pumps you up. ![]() The music is what you should expect from Andrew Hulshult who worked on Doom Eternal's DLC soundtrack with David Levy, as well as Dusk's OST and has been a prolific composer and sound designer of retro shooters, in the modding community and also worked on remakes of various games. However it's worth it for the sheer absurdity of it. The carnage is immense and can get kind of messy leaving enemy fire patches that do damage obscured. This isn't a game for immersion, it's a blood filled carnage-fest, giblets and blood cover the floor after you spray a minigun down a corridor. The guns are animated in a very clunky DOOM kind of way, which I liked the addition of and there is a lot of them and they all look unique. The art style is low-res which is typical for my tastes. However if you're a fan of retro shooters I'm sure you'll enjoy it. 7h 27m PlayedI review games with all games starting at 5/10 (Average) and then deduct/add for negatives and positives: Overall Thoughts: I was one of the original backers of the game, and got a t-shirt and quite a few in-game and out of game goodies.
